Labiaplasty

Trim large or uneven labia minora for pain management or cosmetic purposes

Labiaplasty is a minimally invasive procedure that reduces the size of the labia minora -- the skin on either side of the vaginal area -- to improve the appearance and reduce discomfort. Labiaplasty may also involve reducing the size of the labia majora. It is a highly individualized and a safe procedure.

The procedure is for women who possess enlarged labia, or feel that they have unattractive labia due to hormonal changes, congenital factors, or pregnancy. Due to the size of the labia, they may experience discomfort during sex and physical activity, and while wearing tight clothing.

This procedure is highly individualized and can be performed under general anesthesia or IV sedation and local anesthesia depending on the area to be treated. Dr. Kitto will trim and reshape the excess labial tissue and close all wounds with absorbable stitches.

Since labiaplasty is considered a minor, minimally invasive procedure, the recovery time is fairly fast. Most patients experience only mild swelling and little to no discomfort. These side effects are completely normal, and full recovery should take around two weeks.
