Breast Reduction

Remove fat so that your breasts are more proportionate to your body

Women with large breasts often experience physical discomfort, whether it’s backache or neckache, skin irritation, or difficulty breathing. Kitto Plastic Surgery’s breast reduction procedure helps reshape the breasts by removing excess fat, glandular tissue, and skin. Our patients find that they’re able to lead a healthier, more comfortable life, and enjoy a more beautiful and proportionate appearance.

Breast reduction surgery is ideal for women with oversized breasts who suffer from low self-esteem, and physical or social discomfort. Patients must not be pregnant or breastfeeding while undergoing this procedure. It is also important for patients to understand the risks associated with this procedure and to have realistic expectations in order to be satisfied with surgery results.

The techniques for breast reduction vary, but the most common procedure involves an incision around the nipples. From that area, the incision goes down to the natural curve under the breast. Dr. Kitto will remove the appropriate amount of fat, glandular tissue, and skin, and the incisions will be closed with stitches.

After the procedure, you will likely experience soreness, swelling, and bruising for a few days. It is also normal for your breasts to feel tender and sensitive, and your nipples may feel slightly numb. Pain medication can help alleviate discomfort, although these sensations usually subside on their own. Make sure not to partake in strenuous activities for at least 3-4 weeks to ensure proper healing.
